A world where every displaced person has a pathway to protection, and every potential host community has an opportunity to welcome.
We are driven to solve one of the defining global challenges of our time. The number of people fleeing their homes grows each day. Climate change and growing instability are accelerating this trend of displacement. Millions of people seeking protection and a successful future are choosing dangerous journeys to unwelcome borders because they are unable to access a safe and legal route.
The current system is unable to provide enough people with a pathway to protection.
At the same time, there are millions of potential welcomers all over the world. These are communities, universities, employers. They are individuals who are missing someone they love, and strangers who want to welcome a new neighbor.
The current system is unable to provide enough people with an opportunity to welcome.
Solving these problems requires systemic change on a global scale. Driving this change is our single preoccupation. We do not provide services, operate programs, or sponsor refugees. We build systems, create partnerships, and pilot bold solutions with the potential to transform the field of safe and legal routes.
We grow pathways.
Our global team reflects our approach to partnership building. We are world-leading experts with backgrounds in government, civil society, philanthropy, law, and business, as well as expertise drawn from lived experience of displacement. Our dedicated team is based at Pathways International and our sister organization, the University of Ottawa Refugee Hub, and located in Canada, the US, and across Europe. We are bold, restless, and determined. And we are working together, and with dozens of close partners, to build a new global system of safe and legal routes.
